Sometimes Being A Pest Accomplishes Simple Team Leadership Development

A Simple Team approach to planning to ensure we cultivate all the Lord had given us to consider in leading His people gathered can be garnered through asking the right questions.

Which one of these 5 questions do we tend to lean into?

1. how are we crossing cultures to reach the nations?

2. how are we clearly proclaiming God‘s Word to make disciples and leaders who make disciples and leaders?

3. how are we sharing the good news with those who do not know God?

4. how are we caring for those God has gathered together?

5. how are we teaching them to obey all things He’s taught us?

Does one of these five rise above the rest in your heart? If so then that may be your spirit given leadership bent. God‘s given you this perspective to share with your team. Meanwhile, you may need to be reminded of the other four. Practically working out mutual submission to one another in leadership starts here.

Consider asking each of 5 people on your leadership team to be responsible to pray through and regularly ask the rest of us on the team the one question that is most on their respective heart. Ever meeting and every event planned needs to have some aspect of each of these 5 things. Sometimes a little of one and a lot of another are necessary and other times a little of two and a lot of three.

If this looks like something out of Ephesians 4, then you found my source for these thoughts on maturing the people of God and guarding local faith communities from the winds of false teaching by releasing the full leadership gifts of God‘s Spirit.

Some have called this APEST Leadership. Maybe being A Pest might be some of what we leaders need to be about.
